In Featherstone’s own and neighbouring gardens, surrounding fields too, various wildlife is plentiful, active and seemingly very healthy and happy.
Over the bottom fence a few working bee hives reside, sheep graze the boundaries and lambs drop by for a skippady doo and inquisitive squeak come spring. Playing, learning, and chasing the rabbits and crows.
Green and Spotted woodpeckers laugh and chatter, squirels and robins argue, tits and finches flutter aplenty, pheasants prance, Blackbirds and Thrushes chirp and sing to name just a few.
The excited greeting of the dawn chorus and evening goodnight serenade at opposite ends of the day in their own individual way can be mesmeric. Its a privilege to witness, see and hear.
All this combined makes for a blessed spot, its so easy to shut off, take stock, witness and behold the beauty of nature being right in front of your nose. For David, he has enjoyed and embraced nature all his life and this location continues that pleasure with a real wellbeing feeling almost every day.
